Matt and I spent ours this weekend tearing apart the old, gross wood on our deck and replacing it with brand new planks. It hurts to move my body, but I am SO glad we spent hours working on it. Our deck looks so much better already. I cannot wait to start decorating and entertaining in the backyard once quarantine restrictions have been lifted.
I am about to start staining our deck, and then the fun part - decorating! I am spending some time right now figuring out what I want our new deck to look like. This is what I am thinking so far:
Our exterior door is already painted blue, and I don’t want to change that, so I am going to work around that color. I am thinking a black and navy combo is exactly what this space needs. Here are the links/sources for all the items I am considering:
Deck Stain: Boot Hill Gray Stain
Furniture Stain: Ready Seal Mission Brown Stain
Sectional: I am planning on building my own using plans from Ana White, but if you want to purchase instead of building, these are great options: Beau X-Back Sectional, Belham Living Sectional Set, Zahara Modular Outdoor Sectional
Outdoor Coffee Table: I am planning on building my own using plans from Ana White, but if you want to purchase instead of building, these are great options: Manor Park Coffee Table, Hermosa Outdoor Coffee Table, Zahara Outdoor Coffee Table
Rug: Momeni Outdoor Rug, Bliss Elysia Outdoor Rug, Black Emerson Outdoor Rug
Outdoor Cushions: Greendale Home Cushions, Deep Seat Cushion Set
Blue Outdoor Pillows: Blue Geometric Outdoor Pillow, Jacquard Outdoor Pillow, Solid Outdoor Pillow
Black Outdoor Pillows: Dotted Outdoor Pillow, Black and Natural Outdoor Pillow, Zig Zag Outdoor Pillow
Small Planters: Dark Turquoise Planter, Modern Square Planter, Hand Painted Ceramic Planter
Large Planters: Midland Tall Planter, Cevilla Outdoor Planter, Metal Payton Barrel
Patio Trees: Meyer Lemon Tree, Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree, Olive Tree
What are your thoughts on the design? What would you keep for your deck and what would you change?
I can’t wait to hear from you!
